opera142: (this shit is bananas)
There are two writing workshops I am interested in taking. OF COURSE, they're on the same day, at the same time.

My choices are:

The Sentence. This class will discuss examples of bad and good sentences (and every other kind), and will engage in several exercises

or

Silencing the Inner Critic. Who is your inner critic, and why does he or she demand perfection? Learn to revise later in the writing process without allowing your critiques to become harmful.

The Sentence is the one that interests me the most. One my biggest writing struggles is that I tend to think/create in phrases. Discussing styles of sentences, I think, will help me figure out where in the sentence these phrases belong, and what is missing from them, and maybe difuse one of my biggest I'm-a-shitty-writer triggers.

Silencing/Critic, well. I know this is something I need to work on. I'm willing to work on it, but I worry this class will be dopey. Like, lots of feely-goody talk and meh so I don't know how much I'll take away from it.
