May. 14th, 2008 05:56 pmI've been watching Supernatural. MORE LIKE SUPER-FINE AM I RITE. Wow.
The storytelling is excellent, no mystic mumbo-jumbo. No whiney, wishy-washy psychic-- though I'm sure fandom brings that around. Gritty and mean and scary--zomg, getting on a plane they *know* will crash. AND THE WRITING PULLED IT OFF IN A WAY THAT DIDN'T SET OFF MY ACK!SO!STUPID! WANK-O-METER.
I love how the random characters aren't idiots either. You're no forrest ranger. If only there were someone hot who wasn't a Winchester so there could be slash I enjoy.
Opera-centrically, aka only a pro to me, this series is hitting three kink buttons hard. 1. Gritty boys! 2. sibling understory. 3. That scene-- SPOILER FOR 1ST SEASON AHOY-- in the finale, where demonposessed!Dad is about to slaughter Dean, and Dean pleads with trappedinside!Dad, "Don't let him kill me." AKSJljfklsdjflksdjflksjflksjdflksjdflksjdf. DUDES. The fear and the pleading and the no hope anymore. Wow. The salt trapped them.
