Angstbunny, there is a new program on Discovery channel called "the Colony". It's a faux-reality show about a group of post-apocalyptic survivors. So far, the group is rather mundane and uninteresting (there is, however, a handsome doctor with Bright Blue Eyes). It seemed like something you'd like for your zombie scenarious.
