Saw National Treasure this weekend. Liked it lots. It avoided most action film cliches: shoot first, think later hero, useless except for her rack lead female, sidekick doesn't die for the good of everyone, bad guys who are bad and nothing else.

Here is my

The movie was rated pg, which meant a refreshing lack of bloodshed. The bad guys were very polite. They cared about each other. The history was fun. The scriptwriters did a good job with keeping the mystery interesting for the brainiacs, but accessible to the not so brainiacs.

The characters were good twists on the usual action film suspects. They screwed up. They had faults. Some were just grumpy. Even the bad guys had little quirks.

Fun movie, I reccommend it.

My friend works at the movie theatre so we visited the projection booth afterwards... I don't know if that's what it's called anymore, and it's much, much bigger than a booth. I so wanted to stick my hand in front of a movie.

We also ate at Noodles and Co. Nummy.

Hollywood blockbuster and chain eating establishment... I live on the edge. From now on, call me BuckWyldChyld.

Had a good writing weekend. Finally. Not tremendous output or anything, but for the first time in a long while I managed to write something that I'm feeling pretty good about.

If you enjoyed National Treasure, then you might enjoy The Da Vinci Code, since apparently it's the same basic story.
