Porn-inspired Thinkie-thoughts

I scored some fine porn at Halfprice books this weekend. Included among the short stories in Flesh and the Word III was a NON-CON BETWEEN WRESTLERS WRITTEN by my favorite pro porn-writer Aaron Travis. Oh, the pervy joy.

It included pony play and costumes. Zomg, joy. *am ded from wet panties*

But the most whee! aspect of the story was this bit of dialogue: You may thing that the world of pro-wrestling is split between good guys and bad guys. That ain't so. The split comes between Tops and Bottoms. A Top may be a good guy or a villain, an angel or an asshole, but whatever. He's got that certain something that makes the crowd wanna see him come out on top. Same with a Bottom. Good guy, bad guy, doesn't matter. He's got that certain something that makes a crowd go wild when they see him get the shit knocked out of him.

Should have been edited leaner and meaner. Yes, yes, yes. Think Angle and X-Pac.

So now I'm all SpazzyBrained over the interpersonal dynamics of the idea. Especially in tag team situations. Or Character VS. The Man Playing Him-- like how Cena gained Top popularity while they were booking him as a joke-bottom, but they minute they started writing him as Uber-Top, the crowd wanted nothing but ass-kickings for him.

The stories, zomg the stories that will come from this. Stories and angst, stories and non-connery. Stories, stories, stories

*looks forward to the stories*

BTW, am I supposed to be beta-ing, or are you working on the last beta I sent you? *senile*

Theoretically, I'm working on the last beta. But, in reality, I'm letting it sit for a bit. I see the valid points in the changes you suggested, but I still love what I wrote three drafts back. My heart isn't in the re-write yet.

Ah, that's always a sticky spot. It's hard to get past the emotional investment in your initial creation.

I'm on AIM if you still wanted to chat about whatever it was the other night.

Oh my. Must procure. I have the first "Flesh and the Word" (ganked from Half Price) and now must have the others. I didn't even KNOW there were others!

*flails*

It is your God-given duty to transcribe or scan that story in for all of us. Yes.
