Another Meme catch up
Sep. 3rd, 2010 07:36 pmDay 10 - Favorite classic book: Wuthering Heights Emily Bronte. When I first read it, I like the front half much better. Re-readings have made me decide Catherine and Heathcliff were self-abosrbed douches, and that CatherineII and Hareton's story is much more interesting. Plus, this book has two of the best nightmare sequences ever.
Day 11 - A book you hated: David Copperfield. Idiots Out Having Boring Adventures With Strangers Who Turn Out To Be Cousins and Other Victorian Bullshit.
Day 12 - A book you used to love but don't anymore: Flowers in the Attic V.C. Andrews. I KNOW OKAY. Overwrought prose, terrorized children, gothic lit rip-offyness and hot older brothers are the stuff every 14 yo dreams of.
Day 13 - Your favorite writer: Tie: Raymond Carver and Joe R. Lansdale.
Day 14 - Favorite book of your favorite writer: RC: the short story Cathedral and JL: Mucho Mojo.
Day 15 - Favorite male character: Will McLean (Lords of Disipline, Pat Conroy)
Day 16 - Favorite female character: Brienne of Tarth (a song of ice and fire series, George R.R. Martin)She's a bad ass and quietly proud of it.
