Aug. 16th, 2009 09:24 pmFriendslist, I vow this: if that moneytree/lottery/long-lost&loaded generous realitive ever comes through for me, I'm flying you all in for a cone at Izzy's.
Izzy's Ice Cream Cafe is not content with serving totally awesome ice cream. They must be awesomely generous with it. With each cone, you get an "Izzy" which is an additional wee scoop of ice cream plopped cherry-like atop your big fat regular scoop.
I goofishly adore the Izzy. Want to sample a flavor, but are too scared to commit your entire cone experience to it? Can't decide between salted caramel or coffee? Does the cake batter flavor get to be too much by the end of your cone? Believe dark chocolate always tastes better with a vanilla chaser? Get pissed when Moe chooses blueberry cheesecake as his flavor, meaning he gets a sample of your cone but you don't want any of his? Like to mock people for their scoop/Izzy combos? Izzy takes care of you!
Because it was pushing 90 yesterday, Opera Law demanded that we go. The scoop combos made by my fellow citizen were unacceptable. Normally, I eavesdrop for the grossness. Coffee and Cotton Candy!?! What's is wrong with you? Green Tea and Peanut Butter, are you mad?!?! But yesterday, Izzy's was overrun by the unimaginative and vexing. Choosing the same flavor as your Izzy is an Opportunity Lost. For shame. For shame.
For shame. Then Moe pulled the most tragic of all Izzy stunts. He picked cheesecake as his main (strike one), and salted caramel--my main--as his Izzy. Thus insuring the safety of his own cone while guaranteeing a bite of dark chocolate for himself. For shame.
