Bad wrestling, bad Hollywood
Feb. 12th, 2008 01:08 pmThe E finally debuted their Paul Burchill/Some Chick Playing His Sister incest angle. It has got to suck so hard to be a wrestler and get handed that kind of storyline. Not because it's so kontrovershalomg, but because it isn't. It's not controversial or edgy or hardcore; it's poking a dog with a stick. The poker (characters) and stick (storyline) don't matter one bit, the dog (audience)goes buck because he's getting pestered with something he doesn't want.
Worst part is, when it fails, it's the wrestlers who get punished. Not the idiots who though an incest angle would sell tickets for a wrestling event.
Anyway, to plop lame frosting atop this dumb cake, last night Lawler was doing his usual pig sctick, going on and on about Katie (wtf is it with WWE, bad angles and the name, Katie?), and JR says "She's a handsome woman."
Like that gargoyle should judge anyone on their looks. Jeez.
I hate that. I hate how most guys are nasty or out-of-shape uggos and they're never called on it. I hate how nasty, fat uggo dudes will hit on attractive chicks no problem, but God forbid an uggo or heavy chick try pick up a guy-- any guy, even another uggo.
I was watching Biggest Loser and there were these dudes. One weighed 350 and had 11 chins; the other weighed over 400 pounds. They were in the position of eliminating another player and they voted out some chick because "We're athletes, and she's not working hard enough." (not an exact quote). Athletes? Seriously? Playing college football 25 years ago doesn't make you an athlete now. It sucks how a lot of my female friends won't go to the gym or get a massage because they're a little bit overweight and feel "too fat", yet out-of-shape, gone-to-pot dudes have no qualms calling themselves athletes and judging/dismissing others on their athletic worthiness. Grrrrrr.
And then there's "The Hottie and The Nottie". Paris Hilton's latest film. The gist is that Paris is hot and her friends isn't. An uggo loser dude wants to date her, but she won't be with anyone until her friend finds love. I only saw the trailer, so maybe a twist comes about somewhere, but the majority seemed like "Oh NOES, how will we ever find some one to love this ugly girl???" Never mind that the loser dude and his friends are WAY uglier than ugly girl. Grrrrr.
Edited a bit from original rant just because I worried it sounded like I was bashing heavy people instead of bashing in the idea that it's okay to condemn women for unattractive physical attributes.
