Geez, I go away for a week and the wrestling world goes crazy. Broken necks, video highjackings and Christian quits.
I'm 75% work, 25% not on the Christian thing. Assuming it's real, I say good for him. There's absolutely no reason to risk breaking your neck unless your work=110% love. The guy has been trying to make diamonds out of shit gimmicks ever since E&C broke up. He's NEVER needed a turn to keep people interested in his character. On the rare occasions when WWE did give him the ball, he hit it out of the park and across the street. I can see him thinking, I'm still healthy, I'm wealthy, and I'm never going to get a serious championship push. And it's only a matter of time before I'm wrestling midgets or getting my neck broken by some clumsy troll like Masters. Fuck this. I'm out of here.
Also, to go emo-fangirl, all his friends either left or went psycho. Why stay?
If it's real, I'm really going to miss him. I adore Christian.
He epitomizes everything that made wrestling hugely successful back in the Attitude era, and he highlights everything that is absolutely wrong with how WWE is running things right now. I'll explain that mini-rant someday.
